
The Special Hope Foundation and the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry (AADMD) are partnering together in sponsorship of a Request for Proposal.
Funding Title:
Research, Design and/or Integrate Diversity/Cultural Competency Curricula in Healthcare for the I/DD Population: A Partnership with Self-Advocates
Purpose:
The mission of the Special Hope Foundation (SHF) is to promote the establishment of comprehensive healthcare for adults with developmental disabilities(I/DD) designed to address their unique and fundamental needs. Sharing SHF’s interest in promoting and improving quality healthcare, as well as access to healthcare for adults with I/DD is the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry. The two organizations are collaborating to advance research, design and implementation of diversity/cultural competency training programs that improve the quality of care for the diverse population of people with I/DD. The intent of the RFP is to fill the gap in research and training materials in this subject area. Projects must include strong partnerships with self-advocates in project design and implementation
Target applicants are:
- University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD)
- Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Programs
- Other Not-for- Profit 501(c)(3) Healthcare Practice or not-for-profit with expertise in culturally competent healthcare delivery.
Available funding resources:
The Special Hope Foundation will provide grants up to $50,000 for a 1-year term for research, curriculum design, including materials, and/or program implementation.
