(Palo Alto, CA, February 3, 2020) — The WITH Foundation is pleased to announce that $60,000 will be awarded to the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry (AADMD) to fund the organization’s annual inclusive health educational conference for medical professionals – for a period of three years.
“It is a privilege to support AADMD as they work to provide a forum for healthcare professionals who provide clinical care to people with neurodevelopmental disorders and intellectual disabilities (ND/ID)” said Ryan Easterly, Executive Director of the WITH Foundation.
The AADMD has long partnered with the WITH Foundation to promote the establishment of comprehensive healthcare for adults with developmental disabilities that is designed to address their unique and fundamental needs. Since 2002, the AADMD has connected clinicians across the world and prepared them to face the unique challenges in caring for people with IDD. The organization provides curriculum to schools, IDD training for clinicians and specialized information to families and caretakers in language that is easy to understand. Above all, AADMD aims to make sure that no person with IDD is left without access to quality health services.
AADMD’s Annual Conference for medical professionals, dentists and physicians is focused on health practitioner competency, clinical best practices and health advocacy for persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). During the conference, health industry leaders, health educators, and health professionals attend topical plenary sessions, breakout presentations, workshops and during networking opportunities centered around inclusive health.
